1.) Walmart Drone Delivery to 4M Households This Year
Walmart announced last week to offer Drone Delivery to up to 4M households by end of the year across six states, the largest company in the US to offer drone delivery.
According to studies, drones deliveries could reduce delivery time by 30 minutes of and and cost less than a dollar for each delivery.
In addition, Walmart if currently hiring FAA-certified pilots as part of its drone strategy to compete against other Internet Giants namely Amazon and Alphabet.
Singular’s Take: We believe drone deliveries will significantly reduce Carbon Emissions, in the US, 28% of greenhouse gas comes from transportation. We have come a long way from pony express to steamships to railroads. Autonomous Drones could reshape the world delivering food, medical supplies and groceries.
Singular’s Action: Companies to watch developing drone technology AgEagle Aerial Systems (NYSE:UAVS), Amazon (AMZN), AeroVironment (AVAV), Vislink Technologies (VISL), Ondas Holdings (ONDS),Kratos Defense & Security (KTOS)& Ambarella, Inc. (AMBA)
2.) Actor Seth Green’s NFT Phishing Attack
Last week, Seth Green’s Bored Ape worth $200k got stolen as Bored Ape owners plans to get a license to make commercial use of their NFTs. As a result, Green’s commercial rights to use Bored Ape to develop a TV show has been lost. Here’s an short trailer White Horse taken at the VeeCon NFT conference .
Although Green has tracked down and identified the new owner and asked to reclaim the NFT, we won’t know whether of not he still has the rights to develop the next episode of Bored Ape Show.
Singular’s Take: NFTs represent immutable ownership of digital assets on the blockchain but it is not risk-free. We believe the law today governing transfer of IP rights via smart contracts is still unclear and Seth Green’s upcoming legal battle could set the NFT precedent that the community wants.
3.) Crypto’s Golden Era
We have seen the overall Crypto are down while volatility went up…which is exactly when the best companies and protocols emerge—when short-term price fluctuations don’t distract a new wave of entrepreneurs and disruptive innovators from building.
While the Peter Schiffs of the world prematurely celebrate crypto’s demise and the average retail investor hunkers down for a “crypto winter”, others are positioning themselves for the “golden era”.
Singular’s Take: Prepare for Crypto’s Golden Era as the world prematurely celebrate crypto’s Demise and the average investor hunkers down for “crypto winter”.
Singular’s Action: Invest in Web3. Chris Dixon a16z’s crypto arm that just launched a +$7.6B arm believes we are entering an era of “new talent, viable infrastructure and community knowledge that could spark rapid revolution in Crypto. Long and strong $BTC & $ETH.
UNDER THE RADAR
JPMorgan (JPM): The Comeback Kid
First half 22’ has been brutal for the overall stock markets, but there are hidden gems with big discounts. One of those will be JP Morgan with strong recent performance as JP Morgan’s CFO Jamie Dimon said on Monday : “the US economy is still strong and “the dark cloud” over it “may dissipate”.
To summarize JPM’s Overall outlook
Net interest income guidance for 2022 to +$56B from $50B in January and said it has a good chance of exceeding targets
JPM could get it back on track to its target of 17% return on tangible common equity.
Last week’s retail sales pointed to continued strong consumer spending despite historic inflation. Over 78% of adults reported “living comfortably” or “doing well” compared to 75% in 2020 compared to only 50% in 2013.
Singular’s Action: Long $JPM with tight stops ~below 98 creating good asymmetric risk/reward targeting further upside with $150 upside target.
